Fort Collin’s Rocky Mountain Biennial Show Submission epilogue

Posted By venita on June 11, 2008

Shrine for CarolineWell I heard early this morning, that none of my art pieces were accepted into the show.  I was pretty sad about that.  But, Kelly sent me some great and inspiring notes that really cheered me up.  And the reality is that this is not the end of the world or stopping the pursuit of world peace.  I thought I would share another image of one of the pieces I submitted.  And the joke is that the young lady that was working the front desk and helped me find my work, looked at this particular piece and said she loved it!!  How funny is that?  But, it did lift my heart.

In addition, I got some great news from Brenda Hunter, who I designed the image for her t-shirts, post cards, and posters for the forthcoming Idaho Democratic Convention.  She got 20 minutes with one the top analyst in the state.  Cross our fingers, her story will be in print this week!  And she was kind enough to highlight my art as one of her topics during the call.  Isn’t that cool?  Her text message about her interview, made me remember an old saying:

When one door closes, another one opens.

And don’t forget the foot that you can stick in the door and keep it part way open…you never know what will happen :)
Stay positive. Stay YOU. Stay focused. You WILL do it.
